Three of the graduates gave speeches, each touching on the theme of kokorozashi, or personal mission, a cornerstone of the GLOBIS curriculum. Toshiaki Suzuki, of Japan, said, “The Entrepreneurial Leadership class gave me a precious opportunity to consider myself and my personal mission. I discovered that my kokorozashi is contributing to developing countries’ growth from the point of ICT and business. Luckily, I could find a new job as an international development consultant…. Happiness to me is to contribute to others or society. I can feel my own value of why I am alive.”

Jake Pratley, from Australia, also touched on the same theme. “We have finished our studies but we are never off the hook. We are accountable for the personal missions we set ourselves from today.”

Kazuyo Yasuda, of Japan, reiterated the lessons about implementing personal missions, paraphrasing Mahatma Gandhi: “Live today as if it were your last, and keep learning as if you will live forever…. Devour this very moment and let it propel the positive changes we will each be creating in society from today onwards.”

Some graduates from the Japanese MBA program are the first from its Online Program, which started in 2015. In October 2017, the English MBA program will also officially open an Online MBA program, where students will have the freedom to attend classes both online and on-campus.
